Scheduling tasks with "cron"

Manic accounts may have a single cron task which is scheduled to run once per night. Since telnet/shell access is not provided, the cron task must be a CGI script, and must return a valid CGI header. The cron task should be named:

http://www.yourname.com/cgi-bin/crontask.cgi

This special URL is invoked automatically at 3:00am (pacific time) via a web request. (User cron tasks are queued and run sequentially beginning at 3:00am). When testing or developing your cron task, simply point your browser at the cron task URL. To prevent unauthorized invocation of your cron task, the URL is automatically password protected, and requires your account username and password.

Only one cron task is permitted per account.
